Planned training of SITTEC’s non-staff emergency response team continue in Ukhta with the top priority of saving life and health

12 September 2014 saw another training of the non-staff gas rescue team conducted in SITTEC’s Ukhta branch. The training was aimed at putting into practice the basic principle of rescue teams – the priority of saving people’s life and health and of protecting the environment in emergency cases.

The training schedule comprised the following:

  • evacuation of victims from the gassed area using an Air Breathing Apparatus for rescue services - a multi-purpose AVKh-U (1 balloon BK-7-300) and modernized Full-face respirator PPM-88, special stretchers and other equipment;
  • first-aid treatment using a medical ventilator “Gornospasatel-10” for artificial lung ventilation for accident victims;
  • first-aid treatment without any support equipment, including mannequin-based simulation of cardio-pulmonary resuscitation “Ambumen” with computerized results control.

The training was conducted in the presence of Rostekhnadzor supervisors, certifying authorities and expert organizations as well as of SITTEC’s management. The experts marked that SITTEC’s equipment met all the existing requirements and surpassed that of an average professional emergency response unit also noting the 100% training and certification of the gas rescue team. The training was also aimed at evaluating the sufficiency of the response team’s equipment which could increase the possibility of first-aid treatment. It was followed by results-based discussion of practical measures to increase the first-aid treatment possibility. Instructions were given with regards additionally equipping and motivating the gas rescue team.
