Titanium coagulant application for oil producing enterprises
First tests have been carried out to evaluate the effectiveness of titanium coagulant in the treatment of water in reservoir pressure maintenance systems.
December 2011 saw SITTEC Ltd. and LUKOIL-Engineering LLC carry out laboratory tests to evaluate titanium coagulant application for the purification of produced salt water for reservoir pressure maintenance systems. The tests were conducted on samples of water in a Perm Krai deposit.
The tests have shown that titanium coagulant is highly effective in removing from the given specific types of water residual oil and suspended elements. They have also shown the high density of the sediment forming as a result of titanium coagulant application. The suggested technological pattern according to which titanium coagulant is injected directly into the pipeline providing water to the water storage reservoir, does not require any additional expenses or changes to technological schemes of treatment and supply of water to reservoir pressure maintenance systems.
It was mentioned that one of the purposes for obtaining purified water for further injection into the reservoir was to intensify oil displacement from a greater amount of porous-fissured ducts in order to increase oil recovery efficiency.
