LUKOIL-Perm, LUKOIL-Engineering, and SITTEC start pilot–scale titanium coagulant application for the purification of water in reservoir pressure maintenance systems

LUKOIL-Perm LLC, LUKOIL-Engineering LLC, and CJSC SITTEC have started industrial pilot-scale titanium coagulant application for the treatment of water in the reservoir pressure maintenance system in Malo-Usinskoe deposit.

In accordance with the work plan agreed between the parties, during several months, oil products contained in water, which is used for the maintenance of reservoir pressure, will be removed by means of coagulation with titanium coagulant.

The laboratory tests conducted by the parties at the preparatory stage proved the exceptional efficiency of titanium coagulant in removing oil products from water.

One of the aims of the pilot-scale titanium coagulant application is to obtain purer water for further injection into the reservoir. It intensifies oil displacement out of a greater amount of porous-fissured ducts and consequently increases oil recovery efficiency.

SITTEC Ltd., which is part of IFD Kapital Group, is realizing the project of building up titanium coagulant production on the basis of Yarega oil and titanium resource (the Komi Republic, the Russian Federation). Titanium coagulant is an innovative highly effective chemical for drinking water production, and industrial and municipal waste water treatment. The superior removal capacity of titanium coagulant is accounted for by the high adsorption capacity of titanium containing phases in the product, which has significant technical and economic advantages over other coagulants.
