SITTEC Ltd. launches the project of building up titanium coagulant production in Nizhniy Domanik settlement in Ukhta municipality.
The titanium coagulant production complex will use the resources of the Yarega oil and titanium deposit, which is situated in the central industrial region of the Komi Republic, 22 km North-West of Ukhta. The Yarega deposit’s titanium ore resources make up around 40 percent of titanium resources in Russia. This makes possible long-term production of titanium coagulant and other titanium containing products.
In 2010 the project of building up titanium coagulant production was positively assessed by the Principal State Expert Examination Board. Since November 2011 trees and bushes have been cut down within the frames of the project. In December 2010 a tender was held for selecting a contractor for land leveling works (the site filling works). The tender winner was CJSC ViD, a Pechora company, specializing in such type of works. CJSC ViD has completed the land leveling works and the construction of an approach drive in accordance with the design documents and with the schedule. The high quality of the works allows starting construction and installation works for principal and auxiliary production buildings after the selection of general contractor in March 2011. The construction is planned to be completed in December 2012.
In 2013 the pilot scale production is supposed to attain the projected capacity with up to 50,000 tons of oil and titanium ore processed and 25,000 tons of titanium coagulant produced per year.
The start of the production will create new jobs. The majority of employees will be hired among workers and specialists living in Ukhta.
