On 24 August 2016, S.A. Gaplikov, Acting Head of the Komi Republic, N.N. Gerasimov, Minister of Industry, Transport, and Energy of the Komi Republic, R.U. Maganov, First Executive Vice-President of LUKOIL PJSC, and A.V. E.V. Dmitrieva, Director-General of SITTEC CJSC has introduced the high-ranked guests with the technology of Yarega oil and titanium ore processing and further production of the final product – titanium coagulant.
The visitors were displayed the successive production stages and processes from titanium concentrate to chemical synthesis and packaging of the final product. Many of the production processes involve the use of non-standardized equipment, manufactured specially for SITTEC in Russia and abroad.
The guests were also shown the very process of purifying water up to the drinking quality by applying titanium coagulant for water from a surface water source.
The start-up of the titanium coagulant production plant created over 350 jobs for employers engaged in the production process, and a great number of jobs for those in other Ukhta enterprises.
Oil and titanium ore recovery for titanium coagulant production is carried out by LUKOIL-Komi LLC which is the subsoil user of Yarega deposit.
For successful project realization and interaction, the government of the Komi Republic and SITTEC signed a Cooperation Agreement, providing for stable effective cooperation in economic, financial, and social issues.
In conclusion of the meeting, the Komi Republic leaders, LUKOIL and SITTEC management discussed further plans of cooperation over complex exploration of Yarega deposit as well as Ukhta’s social and economic development.
SITTEC Ltd., which is part of IFD Kapital Group, carries out titanium coagulant production on the basis of Yarega oil and titanium resource (the Ukhta Region, the Komi Republic, the Russian Federation). Titanium coagulant is an innovative highly effective chemical for drinking water production, and industrial and municipal wastewater treatment. The superior removal capacity of titanium coagulant is accounted for by the high adsorption capacity of titanium containing phases in the product, which has significant technical and economic advantages over other coagulants.
